How to upload a whole folder of product photos to the cloud

The page has two tabs: Upload sends a folder to the cloud, and Export URLs turns the photos already uploaded into a CSV of links. On upload the tool checks every photo's path first, uploads the ones that pass straight to the cloud, and records which internal model number each belongs to. The images never pass through our server, so a folder of several GB is fine.

Drop a whole folder here   or   Choose a folder

312 files (86 MB): 11 can be uploaded, 1 don't match.   4Upload these 11 files

  1. 1Pick the marketplace from the dropdown. Nothing is selected by default, so you have to choose; for now there are walmart and wholesale.
  2. 2Drag the whole folder into the dashed box, or click Choose a folder. Three or four levels of nesting are fine. Not sure how to lay it out? Click Download template folder for an example structure. One upload takes at most 7 GB; above that nothing is accepted, so split it into several folders.
  3. 3The tool checks every file and tells you how many can be uploaded and how many don't match. The ones that don't match are listed below with a reason each, and they are not uploaded.
  4. 4Click Upload these N files. A progress bar and the count show while it runs; keep the page open. If some fail, a Retry the N failed button appears.
Sign in first. Checking and uploading need a company account. Every active account can use it.

Folder rules

Every file must meet all three rules. Miss one and it isn't uploaded.

  1. 1The top-level folder must be the marketplace's name in lowercase: walmart or wholesale. That keeps everyone from creating their own folders at the bucket's root.
  2. 2Three kinds of file are accepted: .jpg (images; .jpeg works too), .pdf (assembly instruction) and .mp4 (video). Anything else is rejected. (wholesale only takes .jpg photos.)
  3. 3The tool knows whose file it is from the internal model number, taken as you wrote it and not checked against the system. For a walmart .jpg it is the folder name: the folder that directly holds the image. For a .pdf or .mp4 it is the file name, without the extension. The folders in between can be anything, and letter case doesn't matter.
  4. 4If a model number contains *, write # in the folder / file name instead (Windows does not allow *): a folder called 2560-1#4 is model number 2560-1*4.
  5. 5The wholesale rules differ: .jpg photos go straight into wholesale with no model-number folders, and the model number is in the file name: <model>_<n>.jpg. For example wholesale/8429BE-1_1.jpg is model 8429BE-1 (the trailing _<n> is dropped).
  6. 6For wholesale, the image links in the export are scaled to 1024 px on the long side by Cloudflare's own image resizing; the cloud keeps the original you uploaded. Other marketplaces export links to the original.

A model usually has just one video and one assembly instruction, so put each kind in its own folder and name the file after the model number, for example walmart/videos/5909S.mp4 and walmart/ai/5909S.pdf. A video's thumbnail (.jpg) goes straight in the videos folder with the same name, for example walmart/videos/5909S.jpg. The file name is taken as the model number exactly as written; a space is part of the name and does not split it into several model numbers.

Template folder: Download template folder on the upload page gives you a zip. Unzipped, it holds walmart/ai/0000AA-1.pdf, walmart/videos/0000AA-1.mp4 and walmart/0000/0000AA-1/0000AA-1_1.jpg; the names are examples and the files are empty. Swap in real model numbers, put your files in, then upload. Empty files are rejected, so don't upload them as they are.

walmart/batch1/6022-36/front.jpgwalmart/0000/0000AA-1/0000AA-1_1.jpg: the template's example name, rename it to a real model number first
The path in the cloud and the database is the same as the one you dropped. Uploading the same path again overwrites the old file; you never get two copies.

After the upload

  1. 1"Done: N uploaded and recorded" means it all worked. A file is only recorded after the cloud confirms it exists with the same size.
  2. 2Under the page, Last uploaded photos shows only the newest batch: a line with its batch number, marketplace, upload time, uploader and counts, then the images from that upload (up to 200 shown). Each click on upload is one batch; for older ones, or all of it, use the Export URLs tab.
  3. 3Click Copy links to copy the public link of every image in the current list as one column, ready to paste into a spreadsheet.
  4. 4If files fail, click Retry the N failed. Upload links last one hour; if a slow upload outlives one, the page requests a fresh link on its own.
04

Export URLs

Switch to the Export URLs tab. There are two methods, and both end in a CSV you can download.

  1. 1 By batch: the last 10 batches are listed with number, marketplace, upload time, uploader and model count. Click Export CSV on a row to download the links of everything in that upload right away, with nothing else to click.
  2. 2 By model numbers: paste one internal model number per line, for the marketplace picked at the top, and click Export links. Letter case doesn't matter.
  3. 3 When exporting by model number, the line above the table says how many model numbers and images there are. Click Download CSV to save a file, or Copy (paste into Excel) to paste straight into a sheet. Exporting by batch skips this step: the file downloads as soon as you click.
  4. 4 When exporting by model number, any model number with no uploaded photos is listed in red and is not in the CSV.

What the CSV looks like: one row per model number: first the image links (in file-name order, with numbers sorted by value so _2 comes before _10), then Video, Video Thumbnail and Assembly Instruction columns. The model number with the most images decides how many image columns there are.
